Yaghoub Karimi: I will Join Esteghlal or Persepolis in Future

Yaghoub Karimi, 21

Yaghoub Karimi, 21, is one of those young and talented players who currently plays for Naft Tehran in Iran Pro League. The officials of Esteghlal FC and Persepolis FC were interested in transferring this striker from Naft to their clubs but the authorities of Naft didn’t allow him to join the giant clubs in Tehran.

“Esteghlal FC was interested in moving me from Naft. But the officials of Naft didn’t let me join that club and my teammate Iman Mousavi transferred to Esteghlal FC base on the same offer. Iman is one of my best friends and he has a bright future in football. I hope he achieve to what he deserves in Esteghlal.” Yaghoub Karimi said.

However Karimi is not sad about the decision of Naft’s officials. “They negotiated with the authorities of Naft when I was out of Iran. Currently I have contract with Naft and they prefer to keep me in this club. Actually I’m happy with the situations here.”

“Last year I received an offer from a German club but I was not ready to play in Europe in that time.” Yaghoub Karimi added.

Yaghoub Karimi started his youth career in Pas and Esteghlal. On 2009, he ascended to the senior squad of Esteghlal but he was benched in all the matches. He played only one game for Esteghlal FC during his two year spell there. On 2011, he left Blues and joined Naft Tehran. Karimi has scored 8 goals for his side in 39 matches. The player has also scored 3 goals for Team Melli in 4 appearances.
